Free, trial and freemium are different
A trial provides access for a limited period. A free edition can remain available indefinitely with a defined set of capabilities. A freemium product keeps core workflows free and offers optional upgrades for businesses that need more advanced functions.
Define the free forever promise clearly
If a product promises lifetime-free modules, list those modules and their limits in plain language. Explain whether the free tier has restrictions on branches, users, devices, transaction volume, backup, support or integrations. Do not describe a feature as free forever unless the current terms actually guarantee it.
When an upgrade may help
Paid plans may be appropriate when a business needs additional reporting, multi-branch controls, advanced permissions, integrations or priority support. The upgrade page should identify each included module and the applicable price and billing terms.
Compare before deciding
Use the current feature list and pricing information rather than choosing software based on the word “free” alone. Review the pricing and edition details and the available feature list.
